Daniel Bagner
Telehealth Programs Benefit Young Children With Developmental Delay
Dr. Daniel Bagner is a Professor of Psychology and Director of Clinical Training at Florida International University (FIU). A licensed and board-certified clinical child psychologist, Dr. Bagner studies interventions for at-risk infants and young children and their families and etiological models of early childhood behavior problems at the Center for Children and Families. He has published more than 100 scientific papers on these topics and has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for the past 20 years to conduct his research. Dr. Bagner currently serves on the editorial board for five journals and regularly reviews research grants submitted to the NIH. He is involved in several professional and community organizations, including his role as the FIU representative to the board of directors for The Children’s Trust, an organization with a dedicated source of revenue to fund strategic investments that improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Chen Min
Algorithms Detecting Strokes
Dr. Min Chen’s research examines information technology innovations, healthcare analytics, and issues relevant to the economics, organization, and regulation of the U.S. health care system. Her research has been published widely in high impact peer-reviewed journals across disciplines, recognized with competitive awards, and featured in media outlets. Prior to joining FIU, Dr. Chen worked as an economic consultant at Charles River Associates and advised on antitrust issues in a range of industries. Dr. Chen holds a B.A. in Economics from the Renmin University of China, as well as a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. in Managerial Economics & Strategy from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Elisa Trucco
The Impact of Social Isolation and Past Trauma on Mental Health
Dr. Elisa Trucco is an Associate Professor of Psychology and the Associate Director of Clinical Training for the doctoral program in Clinical Science in Child and Adolescent Psychology at Florida International University. She directs the Research on Adolescent and Child Health (ReACH) Lab, which focuses on examining risk and protective factors that lead to initiation of adolescent substance use.

Phillip Carter
Miami English
Phillip M. Carter is a sociolinguist and scholar of language and culture, focusing primarily on language diversity, politics, and identity. He works interdisciplinarily, moving between quantitative and qualitative approaches to sociolinguistics, critical discourse analysis, ethnography, and critical theory. His scholarship addresses a range of issues of contemporary concern, including the relationship between social formations and linguistic variation, Spanish language change in the U.S., maintenance and shift of Spanish in the U.S., and popular discourses about language.

Shlomi Dinar
Water as a Weapon
Shlomi Dinar is interim dean in the Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs and a professor in the Department of Politics and International Relations. Dinar’s research interests lie at the intersection of international environmental politics, security, and negotiation. In particular, he has published in the area of conflict and cooperation over transboundary rivers (a field popularly known as ‘hydro-politics’) as well as the linkages between climate change and international water issues. His research includes other areas and topics, such as the nexus between political demography, technology and terrorism. His writings have appeared in leading journals, and he has authored several books. Among his other professional accomplishments, Dinar has been part of several collaborative consultancy projects for the World Bank that included team members from the United States, Spain, and Israel.
