Dr. Marshall G. Jones is a scholar and teacher with nearly 30 years of experience in preparing teachers in K-12 schools, higher education, and other professional learning environments. His research focuses on learning design, online learning, emerging technologies for learning and development, and multimedia. Dr. Jones has worked with K-12 schools, higher education, and corporate learning and development in the US and in multiple countries around the world.

Danae Schulz – Harvey Mudd College
New Ways to Stop A Deadly African Parasite
Danae Schulz is an assistant professor of biology at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, where she teaches molecular biology and studies the African trypanosome, a protozoan parasite that causes sleeping sickness in humans and nagana in cattle.

Wednesday, April 6th
Willow Henry – Franklin Pierce University
Physical Therapy and Wound Healing
Willow Henry, P.T., D.P.T., as the Dr. Arthur M. Pappas Professor of Health Care Practice Endowed Chair at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.

Dr. Henry is a wound-care expert and an assistant professor in the College of Health & Natural Sciences, teaching within the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University’s Manchester, N.H., Academic Center: https://www.franklinpierce.edu/academics/programs/physical-therapy/index.html.

After previously serving as an adjunct professor, Dr. Henry has been a full-time assistant professor at Franklin Pierce University since May 2017. She is an American Board of Wound Management Certified Wound Specialist and her proposal application focused on the interprofessional management of wounds. She theorizes that wound-care management by a team of experts improves outcomes, decreases wound chronicity, and decreases healthcare costs. Dr. Henry’s research and expertise in wound care and infectious diseases was key as she led the university’s Manchester, N.H., Academic Center’s reopening task force to ensure in-person instruction at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Markus Wilde – Florida Institute of Technology
Mitigating Space Junk
Dr. Markus Wilde is an Associate Professor of Aerospace, Physics and Space Sciences at Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) in Melbourne, Florida, where he also serves as Director of Florida Tech’s  Orion Research Lab.

Dr. Wilde’s Primary Research Interests lie in the field of capturing non-cooperative target objects in an on-orbit servicing and space debris removal context, in particular in the fields of guidance, navigation and control, artificial intelligence, human-machine interfacing and the design and test of capture mechanisms.

He is interested in exploring the novel space system capabilities and design flexibility gained by introducing an on-orbit servicing option, and in the system integration aspects of conceptual capabilities like asteroid mining or near-earth object defense.

Dr Daniel Laufer, PhD, MBA (The University of Texas at Austin, USA), is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, and a former head of the school and member of the faculty management team at the Business School (2014-2017). His primary area of expertise is Crisis Management, and his research focuses on crisis communications, and gaining a better understanding of how stakeholders react to crises. He also currently serves as an Associate Editor at the European Journal of Marketing and Business Horizons.
