Robin Read featured on The Best of Our Knowledge

For this week‘s edition (#1255), Bob has selected Dr. Robin Read of Plymouth University’s segment on robot communication.

Dr. Robin Read is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Robotics and Neural Systems at Plymouth University, UK, where he works on the FP7 ALIZ-E Project. His research is centered around understanding how robots are able to utilize non-human like modalities as a means of expression and communication during social Human-Robot Interaction. Specifically, he is interested in exploring how robot sounds, as those used by the world of Animation may be used with real robots.
