Michael Mannheimer – Northern Kentucky University
The Original Understandings of the Fourth Amendment
Mike Mannheimer is the author of The Fourth Amendment: Original Understandings and Modern Policing (University of Michigan Press forthcoming 2023). He has been teaching at NKU-Chase College of Law since 2004. He received his J.D. in 1994 from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar all three years and served as Writing & Research Editor of the Columbia Law Review. After a brief stint as a staff attorney with the Criminal Appeals Bureau of the Legal Aid Society in New York City, he clerked for the Hon. Sidney H. Stein of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and then for the Hon. Robert E. Cowen of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. From 1997 to 1999, he worked as a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York City. From 1999 to 2004 he practiced law at the Center for Appellate Litigation in New York City, where he represented indigent criminal defendants on appeal from their convictions.
Professor Mannheimerâs scholarship has appeared in such journals as the Columbia Law Review, Texas Law Review, Notre Dame Law Review, Emory Law Journal, Indiana Law Journal, and Iowa Law Review. He was recently elected as a member of the American Law In.

Jonathan Cullick – Northern Kentucky University
Teaching To Kill A Mockingbird
Northern Kentucky Universityâs Dr. Jonathan S. Cullick is a professor of English and former chair of the department (2009-2013). His teaching and research interests include composition theory and pedagogy; English education; American literature and literature of the American South; Bible as literature.
He is a scholar of the writings of poet and novelist Robert Penn Warren and the author of two books about Mr. Warren, âMaking History: The Biographical Narratives of Robert Penn Warrenâ (2000, LSU Press) and âRobert Penn Warrenâs All the Kingâs Men: A Readerâs Companionâ (2018, University Press of Kentucky).
In 2022, Dr. Cullick was honored as NKUâs Frank Stinton Milburn Outstanding professor. In 2019, he was named College Teacher of the Year by the Kentucky Council of Teachers.

Zeel Maheshwari – Northern Kentucky University
Smart Integrated Renewable Energy Systems for Remote Communities
Dr. Zeel Maheshwari received her Masters and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oklahoma State University in Dec 2013 and Dec 2017 respectively. She has been working as an assistant professor at Northern Kentucky University since August 2018. Her research areas include integrated renewable systems, smart grids, microgrids and artificial intelligence.

Building Inclusive Communities Through Peer Mentoring
Dr. Jones joined Northern Kentucky in 2001 after fourteen years in the field of special education. She founded the Supported Higher Education Project at Northern Kentucky University in 2007 to provide inclusive postsecondary learning opportunities for young adults with an intellectual disability and has a passion for building inclusive communities and fostering student empowerment.

Nicholas Caporusso – Northern Kentucky University
Creating Compelling Visual Representation of Literature
Dr. Nicholas Caporusso is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Northern Kentucky University. He earned M.Sc. in Informatics (cum laude) from the University of Bari (Italy) and obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from IMT â Institute for Advanced Studies (Lucca, Italy). His Masterâs and Ph.D. theses received two awards from the Italian Association for Automatic Calculus (AICA). In 2011, he secured a Fulbright Scholarship in Technology Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University (California, USA). In 2015, he was nominated by MIT Technology Review Italy among the 10 best innovators under 35. In 2017, he received a prestigious Marie SkĹodowska-Curie fellowship in robotics and automation at the University of Salford (Manchester, UK). Dr. Caporussoâs research interests focus on Human-Computer Interaction and, specifically, on improving the User eXperience with and of technology. He published over 80 scholarly articles and filed three patents. He founded 4 businesses in the hardware/software space and a non-profit organization (QIRIS â www.qiris.org) devoted to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in disadvantaged areas in Italy; his companies received more than 20 international awards.
