Will Berelson is the Paxson Offield Professor of Earth Sciences, Environmental Studies and Spatial Sciences at USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. His research involves studies of chemical cycling in the air and ocean, largely focusing on the carbon cycle. He is part of an interdisciplinary USC team leading the USC Urban Trees Initiative and the Carbon Census group, a program to study hyperlocal distributions of CO2 and other air constituents in Los Angeles neighborhoods.

Shun Ye is an Associate professor of Information Systems and Operations Management at George Mason University’s Costello College of Business. With a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ye’s research interests focus on digital platforms and open innovation. Published in top leading journals like MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research, Dr. Ye engages in various professional organizations, such as the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and INFORMS. A multiple award winner for his teaching excellence, including the George Mason University Teaching Excellence Award, he teaches undergraduate, MBA, and MS Business Analytics programs.

Sonja Molfenter – New York University
Public Awareness of Dysphagia
Dr. Sonja Molfenter is a clinically-trained Speech Language Pathologist whose research specializes in understanding the physiological features of both normal swallowing and disordered swallowing (known as dysphagia). Swallowing function is commonly disrupted after many conditions including stroke, brain injury, head and neck cancer and spinal cord injury. Her over-arching research goal is to produce clinically-relevant research to inform front-line clinical practice. Her research focuses on naturally-occurring muscle loss in the pharynx as the result of aging. Dr. Molfenter’s work aims to understand the impact of these age-related changes on swallowing function and explore methods to prevent or reverse these changes.

Austin Garner – Syracuse University

Austin M. Garner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology and BioInspired Institute at Syracuse University. His research focuses on how animals interface with their environment with a particular focus on how animals attach to surfaces in variable conditions. He employs an interdisciplinary research approach that combines expertise in both life and physical sciences. Garner’s research currently focuses on attachment and locomotion of lizards (geckos and anoles), sea urchins, and marine sculpins. Prior to joining Syracuse University, Garner was a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at Villanova University from 2021-2022. Garner earned a Ph.D. in Integrated Bioscience in 2021 and a B.S. in Biology (magna cum laude) in 2016, both from the University of Akron.
