Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children See Different Relationships Between Words
Emily Lund is an Associate Professor in the Davies School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Texas Christian University (TCU). Her research focuses on language and literacy development in children with cochlear implants and hearing aids. She received her bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees from Vanderbilt University. Her efforts have received consistent funding from the American Speech Hearing Foundation, NIH/NIDCD and the U.S. Department of Education.

Carol Howe – Texas Christian University
Empowering Hispanic Agricultural Workers with Diabetes Education
Carol Howe, Ph.D., is the Paula R. and Ronald C. Parker Endowed Professor of Nursing at Texas Christian University (TCU). She is a registered nurse, diabetes care and education specialist, and is on the National Advocacy Committee where she serves as the Texas Advocacy Lead for the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists, advocating for increased access to care. She has received honors, including the Leadership Award from the American Diabetes Association, the Excellence in Education Award from the Pediatric Endocrinology Nursing Society, the Penn Nursing Alumni Award for Clinical Excellence, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.

Robyn Trocchio – Texas Christian University
Unveiling the Truth About Body Image with A.I. Technology
Dr. Robyn Trocchio is an associate professor of kinesiology and the director of the sport and exercise psychology lab at Texas Christian University. She also serves as the graduate program director. Her research focuses on enhancing human performance and the impact of technology from a psychophysiological perspective within sport and exercise. She is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant and approved mentor through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. As the co-founder of Trocchio Training, she provides mental performance training for athletes and exercisers of all ages. She received her doctorate in educational psychology with an emphasis in sport and exercise psychology from Florida State University, a master’s in sport and exercise psychology from Barry University, and a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Florida.

Mary Twis – Texas Christian University
Overcoming the Complexities of Trafficking Recovery
Mary Twis is an associate professor in the Department of Social Work at TCU, where she researches human trafficking prevention and intervention strategies. She has specific subject matter expertise in sex trafficking, having published over 30 refereed articles and presented at over 25 international and national conferences on the topic. Twis is a licensed social worker with 15 years of experience as a researcher, educator and collaborator with nonprofits and public sector agencies involved in anti-trafficking efforts.

Joshua Carr – Texas Christian University
The Exercise Prescription: One Size Doesn’t Fit All Between Men and Women
Dr. Joshua Carr is an Assistant Professor at Texas Christian University. He earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Carr currently directs TCU’s Neuromuscular Physiology Laboratory and was recently honored with the prestigious Big 12 Faculty Fellowship Award for his contributions to research and teaching. His primary research interests center around optimizing neuromuscular function through exercise training interventions.
