Jaclyn Tanenbaum earned her Bachelor of Science in Business and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Central Florida and her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Marketing from Florida International University. Before FIU, Jaclyn worked at advertising and branding agencies to design and implement marketing plans and strategies for clients in various industries, including Travel, Tourism & Hospitality, Casino Gaming, Health & Beauty, and Fashion & Retail.

Amanda Thomas – Florida International University

Dr. Amanda Thomas has been a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at Florida International University (FIU) for 6 years, focusing on shaping the future of physical therapy through education, research, and clinical expertise. As a licensed physical therapist, Dr. Thomas is deeply committed to providing high-quality care, particularly for children, and ensuring that students are well-prepared for their careers in the field. After earning her degree at FIU, Dr. Thomas worked as a clinical specialist at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, where she refined their skills in pediatric care.

Tana Carson – Florida International University
Improving Access to Swimming and Water Safety for Children With Disabilities
Dr. Tana Bleser Carson earned her master’s in occupational therapy and a PhD in behavioral and cognitive neuroscience from the University of Florida. Dr. Carson has been engaged in autism research since 2005 and has 7 years of clinical experience in pediatric occupational therapy. She is currently an assistant professor at Florida International University where she leads research, training and service programs focused on two important yet understudied areas of autism – drowning prevention and auditory hyper-reactivity. Dr. Carson is a certified adapted swim instructor and an America Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer.

Karinna Rodriguez – Florida International University
Building STEM Skills Through Play
Karinna Rodríguez is a doctoral student in the Developmental Science program in the Department of Psychology at Florida International University. Her research explores how young children perceive and understand the spatial world around them, with the goal of fostering academic achievement and long-term success in STEM fields.
She works with Dr. Shannon Pruden, professor of psychology and director of the Project on Language and Spatial Development at FIU’s Center for Children and Families.

Marcelo Bigliassi – Florida International University
Yes, You Can Train Your Brain to Like Exercise
Dr. Marcelo Bigliassi is an Assistant Professor of Psychophysiology and Neuroscience at Florida International University, FL (FIU). He is also the Chief Scientist at NeuroSmart, CA. With over 70 published scientific articles, he utilizes advanced methods such as EEG, fMRI, fNIRS, GSR, EMG, and HRV to investigate the brain and body mechanisms that underlie performance, resilience, and health. Dr. Bigliassi leads the graduate program in kinesiology at FIU and serves as an Associate Editor for the journal Psychology of Sport and Exercise. His research connects neuroscience, technology, and applied health solutions, creating a global impact.
